Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby under NCAA Investigation for Gambling
Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby steps away from football to enter treatment for gambling addiction amid NCAA investigation, leaving the Red Raiders facing major uncertainty at quarterback.

Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby is entering a residential treatment program for a gambling addiction and will take an indefinite leave of absence from the football program, the school announced on Monday. He’s under NCAA investigation after the discovery of thousands of bets via a gambling app.
“We love Brendan and support his decision to seek professional help,” Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire said in an email. “Taking this step requires courage, and our primary focus is on him as a person. Our program is behind Brendan as he prioritizes his health.”
