Texas Keeps NFL Draft Streak Alive as Tyson, Price Go in First Round
Texas extends its NFL Draft dominance to 18 straight years as Allen’s Jordan Tyson and Denison’s Jadarian Price go first round, highlighting the state’s unmatched high school-to-pro pipeline.

The streak of at least two Texas high school football alums being selected in the first round of the NFL draft was extended to 18 years after Allen’s Jordan Tyson and Denison’s Jadarian Price heard their names called on Thursday night. The state of Texas has produced 90 first round picks since 2000. The 2008 NFL Draft was the last time only one player from Texas was selected.
Tyson was picked eighth by the New Orleans Saints while Price went 32nd to the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks in the last pick of the night.
