Edna Reassigns AD/HFC Jimmie Mitchell
After leading Edna to three straight state semifinal appearances, Mitchell is reassigned by request after his contract was non-renewed
After weeks of rumors the Edna ISD school board announced on Monday night that athletic director/head football coach Jimmie Mitchell’s request for reassignment was granted, leaving one of the more attractive jobs in Class 3A-Division I vacant. The news was first reported by Mike Forman of the Victoria Advocate.
Mitchell, who has led the Cowboys to three consecutive state semifinal appearances at the 3A-Division I level had his contract non-renewed by the EISD board during the February board meeting. After that non-renewal, Mitchell informed the board of his request for reassignment.
