Texas Tech to hire Mack Leftwich to be next OC
Texas State offensive coordinator Mack Leftwich is headed to Texas Tech to replace now FAU head coach Zach Kittley as play-caller.

Texas Tech is hiring Mack Leftwich as its next offensive coordinator, sources tell Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. Leftwich, 30, has called plays for the Texas State Bobcats for the last two seasons and was at UIW in the FCS ranks prior to following G.J. Kinne to San Marcos.
Red Raiders head coach Joey McGuire said that he wanted to keep a similar playing style to what former offensive coordinator Zach Kittley ran. He was named new head coach at FAU earlier in the week. Leftwich’s offenses at Texas State ranked 11th in scoring offense in 2024 (37.1 points per game) and 2023 (36.7 points per game).
