Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers ruled out for game after strained abdomen
Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers exited Saturday's game against the UTSA Roadrunners with a strained abdomen, and backup Arch Manning scored two touchdowns in relief.

AUSTIN -- Texas Longhorns star quarterback Quinn Ewers exited Saturday's game against UTSA with a strained abdomen and will not return, per head coach Steve Sarkisian.
Ewers, a third-year starter, was arguably college football's top quarterback through two weeks. He completed 14-of-16 passes for 185 yards, two touchdowns and a pick through just over a quarter of action. Ewers was seen shaking his throwing hand after multiple passes and was actively shielding it from high fives. Then, after a 49-yard pass to tight end Gunnar Helm, he dropped to the turf and was escorted off the field. He finished the half in street clothes on Texas's sidelines.
