FRISCO – When the championship game concludes on Sunday afternoon, a new champion will be crowned in the Lone Star Conference tournament for the first time in seven years. And that was only part of the drama, intrigue, and chaos that filled the men’s quarterfinal action inside the Comerica Center on Thursday.
The day began with No. 3 seed Lubbock Christian earning an 80-67 victory over No. 6 seed St. Edward’s. This was the fourth consecutive season the two programs have met in the quarterfinals. This year’s game provided some fireworks near the conclusion when Hilltoppers coach Andre Cook received a technical foul after becoming aggravated by a comment from the Chaps bench area.
