Daingerfield athlete Aeryn Hampton commits to Texas over Alabama
Daingerfield athlete Aeryn Hampton committed Friday to the Texas Longhorns over the Alabama Crimson Tide, shutting down a three-year recruiting process.
When Aeryn Hampton first committed to Texas in the Spring 2022, he saw himself as a dynamic receiver in Steve Sarkisian’s high-powered offense. On Friday, the Daingerfield athlete announced his plans to rejoin the Longhorns’ 2024 class after a 7-month hiatus spent seriously considering Alabama.
The plan once again is to don the burnt orange, but the Longhorns won Hampton back by re-orienting their recruiting pitch for him to play nickel back on defense.
