A Superstar Who Happens To Be Deaf: Jarvis Anderson sets state track record, heads to SFA with a bigger purpose
Stephen F. Austin cornerback signee Jarvis Anderson returned to UIL competition with a vengeance before heading off to begin his college career in two different sports for the Lumberjacks.
Taylor 2023 CB Jarvis Anderson (5'10, 165) missed the UIL State Track Meet in 2022 to compete in the Deaflympics (Caxias do Sul), where he won a bronze medal in the 400m Hurdles and the 4x100.
But he returned to the UIL competition with a vengeance in 2023, capturing gold in three different 4A events: Triple Jump (49-6.00), 110m Hurdles (13.64), and the 300m Hurdles (35.96), breaking a record in the 300m Hurdles.
