He led his team to a state title game in 2020. Now he's resigning.
Jerry Prieto, who led Crosby High School to a state title game appearance in 2020, has resigned his post after four seasons.

In a bit of a surprise move on Monday Crosby athletic director/head coach Jerry Prieto has resigned his post after four highly successful seasons in which he posted a 36-17 overall record, he led the Cougars to the 2020 Class 5A-Division II state title game and a state semifinal appearance in 2021. He finishes his tenure at Crosby with a 36-17 overall record.
Prieto, who came to Crosby after a stint as the offensive coordinator at Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial in his first season posted a 6-5 mark in 2019 and then in 2020 behind one of the state’s most explosive offensive attacks made a run all the way to the state championship game before falling to Aledo.
