West Oso head coach headed to Wolfe City

It’s been a busy February for coaching changes on the Texas coast and Friday morning the Corpus Christi area saw another coaching change as West Oso head coach Brad Smithey informed his team he was departing to become the athletic director/head football coach Wolfe City High School.

Smithey served as head football coach at West Oso, but not athletic director. He posted an 8-23 record in three years at West Oso, but the Bears improved each year under his watch and made the playoffs in 2022.
