The Greg Young era is over at UT Arlington. It’s an era that began when Young became an assistant coach for the Mavericks in 2009. The era ended on Friday afternoon when UTA Director of Athletics Jon Fagg announced the school has parted ways with the veteran head coach after nearly two seasons at the helm of the Mavericks.
“I know coach Young cares deeply about the UTA men's basketball program, and I sincerely thank him for his efforts and dedicated service over the last 14 years as a head, associate, and assistant coach," Fagg said in a statement released by the university. "We are thankful for the many student-athletes he has mentored, and on behalf of the entire department, I wish him all the best in his future endeavors."
