Dave Warner resigns as UTEP offensive coordinator

UTEP offensive coordinator Dave Warner retired after two years in El Paso, sources confirm to DCTF. He arrived in El Paso prior to the 2021 season. Warner engineered a big-play attack that averaged 393 yards of total offense – the most since 2009. The Miners reached a bowl game with wide receiver Jacob Cowing setting records with 1,354 yards and eight 100-yard games in a single season. They won five games in 2022.

Warner and head coach Dana Dimel coached together in two previous stops. Warner served as the passing game coordinator and quarterback coach at Houston from 2001-02 and as the passing game coordinator at Wyoming in 1998. Warner ended his career with 38 years of experience. He spent 13 of those years at Michigan State. The news was first reported by FootballScoop.
