Texas Tech’s Trey Wolff wins Big 12 Co-Special Teams Player of the Week

Texas Tech’s Trey Wolff won Big 12 co-special teams player of the week. Wolff went a perfect 3-3 on field goals and 4-4 on PATs in Texas Tech’s 43-28 victory over the Kansas Jayhawks this past Saturday. Wolff made a field goal late in both the first half and the second half. Wolff made a 51-yarder as time expired before halftime to stretch the Red Raiders lead to 6 (27-21) at the time as well as a 30-yard field goal at the 4:19 mark of the 4th quarter to put Texas Tech up by a full possession (36-28) at the time before a late touchdown (and Trey Wolff PAT) sealed the victory for Texas Tech.

Wolff’s 51-yarder just before half matched the longest field goal of his career as he made one from the same distance against Kansas State earlier this season. Wolff is now 15-18 on field goal attempts and a perfect 32-of-32 on PATs this season. Wolff is the only Big 12 kicker this season to make multiple field goals of 51 yards or longer. Wolff is now eighth place in Texas Tech history with 36 career field goals.
