Baylor teammates Hall, Reese named Big 12 Players of the Week

Baylor Bears junior defensive lineman Gabe Hall was named Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week, while freshman running back was named Big 12 Conference Newcomer of the Week. Hall and Reese's efforts led the Bears to a 45-17 victory over Texas Tech in Lubbock. On the defensive side, the Bears held Texas Tech to just under 160 passing yards and under 150 rushing yards. That is due in large part to Hall’s three-sack performance. The Baylor defense had a total of six sacks (their most of the season) to go along with five interceptions.

While the defensive got the stops and turnovers, Reese decided to run a muck tallying a career-high 36 carries for 148 yards and three touchdowns. This is Reese’s second time this season being named Big 12 Newcomer which is exactly the way any freshman would like to start their career. The Belleville, Texas native has now posted his third 100-plus yard game and his fourth multi-TD game in his young career. He ranks Top 20 in the nation for rushing yards with 791 yards and ranks first in the Big 12 at finding pay dirt with 12 touchdowns.
