Source: Texas A&M to start true freshman Conner Weigman at quarterback against Ole Miss
Texas A&M, Jimbo Fisher expected to hand quarterback reigns to true freshman Conner Weigman in SEC clash with Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss

A source confirmed to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football early on Saturday morning that true freshman quarterback Conner Weigman is expected to start tonight at quarterback for the Aggies against a nationally ranked Ole Miss squad. Weigman saw his first action last week in a loss to South Carolina when he replaced an injured Haynes King. Multiple outlets reported that Weigman would get the nod late Friday night.
Weigman was 8 of 15 for 91 in relief duty against South Carolina. A former four-star recruit out of Cypress Bridgeland, Weigman was a dual-sport star in high school who was a talented infielder with pro prospects. He was a finalist at the Elite 11 who chose Texas A&M over dozens of other Power Five options.
