North Texas Defensive Back Ridge Texada named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week

North Texas defensive back Ridge Texada was named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week after a terrific performance against Florida Atlantic. Texada had two interceptions, including one for a touchdown, as well as four pass break-ups in UNT’s 45-28 victory over FAU. Texada’s 58-yard interception return for a touchdown marked the first career interception for Texada and the first interception return for a touchdown for UNT in over four years. Texada’s other interception was returned to the FAU 1-yard line leading to another UNT touchdown. Essentially another pick six for Texada. Texada is only the 13th UNT player since 2000 with two interceptions in the same game.

North Texas is on bye this week and will face Louisiana Tech in Denton October 15th at 3pm (CT).
