Houston defensive lineman Derek Parish ruled out rest of season with injury

A shaky start to the 2022 football season continued for the Houston Cougars with head coach Dana Holgorsen announcing on Monday that star defensive lineman Derek Parish is out the rest of the season with a biceps injury. Parish, a senior from Pearland, leads the Third Ward Defense with five sacks and eight tackles for loss. He was the AAC Defensive Player of the Week following the Week 2 loss at Texas Tech when 11 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and 6.5 tackles for loss.
