The 101st Battle for the Iron Skillet is an anticipated matchup inside the state of Texas in the 2022 season. The kickoff time for the Sept. 24 crosstown showdown was set for 11 a.m. The game will be played on ESPN or ESPN2, depending on reults from Week 3. Both teams are 2-0 after the first two weeks of the season. TCU, which hired former SMU head coach Sonny Dykes in the offseason, started the year with victories over Colorado and Tarleton. SMU knocked off North Texas and Lamar.
TCU is idle in Week 3, while SMU faces a tough challenge with a trip to Maryland.
