TCU's Derius Davis earns Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week

Senior wide receiver Derius Davis made his presense known on special teams with a 60-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first half of the Horned Frogs’ 38-13 win over Colorado in Week 1. It was TCU’s only score of the first half. Davis added a 27-yard touchdown run on a jet-sweep in the second half and finished the game with two catches for 25 yards.
The win over Colorado was the first of the Sonny Dykes era in Fort Worth. TCU should improve to 2-0 on the season after a Week 2 tilt against Tarleton. The Horned Frogs then receive an early bye week in Week 3 before the Battle for the Iron Skillet on Sept. 24 at SMU, Dykes’ former team.
