Small School Mega Preview: Plenty up for grabs with playoffs starting next week!

Wichita Falls Hirschi (7-2, 4-0) at Lake Worth (8-1, 3-1): It's a district championship bout as the state ranked Hirschi Huskies travels down to the northwest part of DFW to take in surprising Lake Worth. Wichita Falls Hirschi was able to fight back for a 28-22 win over Decatur as week ago. The Hirschi speedy defense was on display as they were able to force an interception and a safety and their front seven controlled the game from start to finish. Lake Worth overpowered Gainesville in a 43-7 win. Quarterback Isaiah Hall threw for 207 yards and four touchdowns. Receiver Damarion Polty had the bulk of those with 157 yards and three touchdowns. Lake Worth gets the chance to upset Hirschi’s district ambitions in the last game of the season. The question will be who will be able to gut it out and win in the fourth quarter? Will Lake Worth continue their offensive output or will Hirschi clamp down on the scoring? Defense always travels well and that edge goes to the Huskies over the Bullfrogs. DCTF Intern Joshua Price’s Pick: Wichita Falls Hirschi by 2

Kilgore (8-1, 5-0) at Lindale (6-3, 5-0): The brutally challenging 9-4A Division I race comes down to a showdown in Smith County as Kilgore heads west on I-20 to take on a surging Lindale squad that’s playing their best football of the year. Kilgore last week rolled past Athens 42-13 as Isaiah Ross ran wild putting up 217 yards on the ground and four touchdowns to lead the speedy Bulldogs. Lindale after starting the season 1-3 has rattled off five straight wins and last week may have been the Eagles best performance of the year as they drilled a good Palestine squad 53-23. Lindale dominated in the first half taking a 46-8 lead by halftime as QB Sam Peterson and the Lindale offense was firing on all cylinders. Lindale is peaking at the right time, but Kilgore’s been consistently excellent all year and those two losses to Lindale a year ago will be fresh in the minds of the Bulldogs. Stepp’s Pick: Kilgore by 6
