SMU's women's basketball season canceled the remainder of its 2020-21 season Tuesday morning.
The program released a statement citing player concern for the rise in COVID-19 and "potential virus-related issues" such as isolation, quarantining and potential disruptions. The statement specified that players did not cite SMU's specific protocols as cause for concern as opposed to broader general problems surrounding the virus' impact on the season.
