Texas Tech will hire TCU offensive coordinator Sonny Cumbie to the same position. The former Red Raiders quarterback played under Mike Leach and represents a shift back to the air raid.

Texas Tech head coach Matt Wells is set to name Sonny Cumbie as new offensive coordinator, according to multiple reports. Cumbie has held the same position at TCU since 2014 and served as playcaller from 2017-19.
