2020-21 Texas Southern Women's Basketball Preview
Cynthia Cooper-Dyke, Niya Mitchell have Tigers positioned to win SWAC in second season
Preseason MVP: After being granted an extra year of eligibility, Niya Mitchell returns to anchor the Texas Southern frontcourt. Mitchell averaged 16.1 points and a conference-best 11.8 rebounds last season.
The Ceiling: In Cynthia Cooper-Dyke’s second year at the helm, the Lady Tigers have the talent to push for an outright SWAC title. An NCAA Tournament appearance would be a huge win for a program that’s on the upswing and could help give national attention to one of the most interesting teams in Texas.
