Mavs hope to turn close losses into productive season in competitive Sun Belt race

Preseason MVP: David Azore was outstanding his sophomore season leading UTA in scoring at 14 points per game. Azore also averaged nearly five boards per game and led the Mavs in steals and assists in 2019-2020.
The Ceiling: UTA has proven to be a consistent contender in the Sun Belt and this year should be no different. The Mavs were a bit down last year but with a lot of key experience sprinkled in with some key newcomers to improve some weaknesses could make this a team that wins 18-20 games and is a threat in the conference tournament.
