He won a national championship at LSU. Now he's headed to Texas Tech.

Texas Tech has added a commitment from former LSU safety Eric Monroe as a graduate transfer. Monroe has one year of eligibility remaining.

The rising senior played in 29 games with one start at LSU, posting 21 tackles and a tackle for loss. However, Monroe ranked among the best players in the nation coming out of high school. The DCTF rankings slotted him as the No. 14 player in the state, while 247Sports ranked him as the No. 55 player nationally. Injuries played a part in limiting his full potential.
