Stepp's Thoughts: Final day of Texas high school football state championships!
Dave Campbell's Texas Football high school insider Matt Stepp shares his thoughts from the final day of the 2019 Texas high school football season, including state championship games featuring Aledo vs. Fort Bend Marshall, Galena Park North Shore vs. Duncanville, and Denton Guyer vs. Austin Westlake!

Aledo Shows Grit in Winning 9th State Title
Aledo earned its ninth state title in impressive fashion by knocking off Fort Bend Marshall for the second-straight season, this one a much closer game at 45-42. Aledo raced out to a 14-0 lead and never really looked back in this one as the Buffs cut the lead to 11 in the second half and got it down to a field goal late, but couldn’t recover the onside kick to really put the pressure on Aledo. Alabama commit RB Jase McClellan in his final high school game led Aledo with 218 yards rushing and two touchdowns, despite being on a bad ankle. Utah commit WR Money Parks led the Bearcats with 132 yards receiving and two touchdowns as well. QB Jake Bishop continued the Bishop legacy of elite QB’s at Aledo with his second title piloting the offense. Aledo came into the game dealing with multiple injuries to key players and fresh off back to back close wins over Ennis and Lubbock Cooper, but the Bearcats once they got to the title game showed how elite they are as a team and as a program.
