Imagine what Johnny Jones can accomplish in his second season at Texas Southern. In his inaugural campaign coaching TSU, the Tigers won on the road at Baylor, Oregon and Texas A&M.
Quite a ride for the Tigers, who also handed SWAC champion Prairie View A&M its only conference loss. TSU’s 2018-19 season didn’t end until losing at the University of Green Bay in the semifinal round of the CollegeInsider.com tournament. It was TSU’s longest postseason run since winning the 1977 national NAIA Tournament.
