Texas football: Longhorns protection issues limit offense in loss to Oklahoma

FAIR PARK -- For the first time in the Lincoln Riley era, Texas came into Saturday’s Red River Showdown with an apparent advantage in the trenches. 

Offensive center Zach Shackelford was a preseason all-conference pick. Sam Cosmi at left tackle has been even better. Parker Braun was a multiple-time all-ACC pick at Georgia Tech. The right side was less experienced, but still very talented. And on the other end, the Sooners are still breaking in four new starters.
