Thursday Viewing Guide: Ranked teams and critical district matchups highlight Week 6 slate

Can’t wait for Friday to get your weekly football fix? Here are 10 Thursday night games that might get you through to the weekend.

6A No. 2 Katy at Katy Tompkins, 6 pm, Texan Live
The weekend’s first kickoff features a battle for school district supremacy. Both Tompkins (5-0, 1-0) and Katy (4-0, 0-0) are unbeaten with impressive resumes. Tompkins has scored at a clip of 60 points per game in its five wins, making this the proverbial irresistible force against Katy’s immovable object of a defense. The Tigers allow just 12 points per game and most notably held North Shore to just 8 yards rushing in the second half of their game. The offenses feature powerful quarterback/running back combinations: Katy’s Ronald Hoff emerged as the feature back behind Bronson McClelland and Tompkins uses the athleticism of Jalen Milroe (12 TD passes, 0 interceptions) and touchdown machine R.J. Smith (13 rush TDs).
