Small College Spotlight Game: SFA takes its lumps against Baylor as the Colby Carthel era begins
Lumberjacks thumped 56-17 by Bears, look to learn and regroup before taking on DII No. 6 Tarleton State.
WACO — The final score of a football game will tell a story, but sometimes the score will only tell you a small part of the story. Such is the case for Stephen F. Austin after they opened the Colby Carthel era with a 56-17 loss at Baylor on Saturday night. The ‘Jacks came out of this game seeing the positives.
“We got the first game under our belt. There was times we looked ok and there was times it looked like the first game of the year and the first game of the program,” said Carthel. “I was really pleased that our guys just kept playing and never gave up.”
