We finally saw what a fully operational Baylor offense looked like in the Texas Bowl against SEC- opponent Vanderbilt, and it was impressive.
While playing against Derek Mason and the Vanderbilt Commodores, Baylor engineered a multitude of extended drives to go along with explosive plays. The Bears averaged eight plays per drive over the course of the game and had four drives of 10 or more plays. Only one resulted in a punt. Later in the game, Baylor broke away for TD passes of 75 and 52 yards in a tight 45-38 victory. Running the ball 46 times for 284 yards and four scores behind a dominant offensive line made all the difference.
