Huntsville overcomes early deficit, downs Marshall 35-34 in final seconds to advance to regional final
Marshall scored a touchdown with 13 seconds remaining but failed on the two-point conversion attempt.
FRISCO -- Huntsville (12-1) took down Marshall (10-3) on Saturday night at the Ford Center, 35-34, clinching a regional final meeting with Fort Bend Marshall. The Hornets weren’t able to get much going in the first half and trailed 21-7, their largest deficit of the season and the first time they had been trailing at halftime this season.
“At halftime, I told them that they need to settle down, we were playing into some hands with some stuff,” Huntsville head coach Rodney Southern said. “We were so resilient and we came out there and played a great second half.”
