Inside Six-Man Football: Wild Week 11 awaits in Class 1A
Six-man football insider Leman Saunders breaks down the week that was in Class 1A.
-Follett traveled to Groom for a huge DII district one showdown and the home crowd was fired up! The Tigers came out hot and matching Follett score for score until the Panthers recovered fumbles on back to back kickoff returns and turned both those possessions into points and Groom could never get back on top after that. The nail in the coffin was a 75 yard pick six for Follett in the fourth quarter. Groom was impressive in the loss, but Follett with their size, physicality and ball control emerged from the game as the favorite to win out in region one as we get ready for the playoffs.
-Milford had very little trouble handling Coolidge in their big DI district 11 matchup as the Bulldogs won 76-42. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 24-0 lead early and that great start was too much for Coolidge to overcome as the game wore on. Taron Smith was 15-25 throwing for 342 yards and seven touchdowns and ran for 101 yards and a score as well in the victory. Corbin Schrotke lead both teams in tackles recording 13.
