UTEP football: Miners vying for first win against Rice
The Miners hope to snap the longest losing streak in college football on Saturday.

EL PASO -- Coming off their 20th straight loss, UTEP (0-8, 0-4 C-USA) will travel to take on Rice (1-8, 0-5 C-USA) on Saturday in what could be the Miners’ best chance at a win.
It’s the first game all season that the Miners have been projected to win, opening as a one-point favorite. In terms of being the favorites, first year head coach Dana Dimel is weary of jumping to anything that could jeopardize his team’s focus.
