No. 12 West Virginia 42, No. 25 Texas Tech 34: Slow start dooms Red Raiders in narrow loss to Mountaineers
The Red Raiders just made a few too many critical mistakes in a late loss to West Virginia.
LUBBOCK -- Texas Tech couldn’t keep its momentum going a week after a big win over Oklahoma State. The No. 25 Red Raiders fell 42-34 to No. 12 West Virginia.
The Red Raiders cut it to a one-possession game with just minutes left in the fourth quarter. But then, third-string quarterback Jett Duffey threw a critical interception. West Virginia returned it for a touchdown, which ultimately cost Tech a shot at the game.
