Mean Joe Greene's statue unveiling spoiled by Louisiana Tech

Mean Joe Greene had to be impressed by what he saw both inside and outside Apogee Stadium Saturday night.

Just outside the gate, stands a brand new eight-foot statue of the NFL Hall of Famer and UNT legend. His permanent enshrinement was unveiled before the game and on an occasion in which North Texas (4-1, 0-1) honored Greene, it was appropriate for the former Pittsburgh Steeler defensive tackle to be treated with a dominant performance by a defensive lineman. He saw a player control the line of scrimmage and helped shut down an explosive offense en route to a big-time win to open conference play. The only problem was, that player played for Louisiana Tech.
