An extremely young Miners team likely in for growing pains in first year under Rodney Terry
A UTEP program that had been riding a roller coaster finally learned where the bottom was last season, one that began with high expectations but had a mid-season coaching resignation before ending in 11-20, the program's worst season since 2002-03.
The offseason went much better. First UTEP lured head coach Rodney Terry from Fresno State, then he nailed a first recruiting class that includes four transfers from Fresno and a freshman class rated one of UTEP's best in years.
