SMU will go through growing pains with young, inexperienced roster

After posting a winning record in his first year as head coach, Travis Mays’ squad took a step back a year ago with a disappointing 10-20 mark that included being two total wins away from the friendly confines of Moody Coliseum (one neutral and one true road win).
Look for a youth movement to take place on the Hilltop this season as Mays brought in seven total freshmen from the high school ranks and several could play key roles this year for a team that has just one senior and one junior on the roster.
