Baylor 55, ACU 27: Bears find offensive stride, running game dominates
Baylor put its FCS demons behind it in a dominant win over Abilene Christian.
WACO -- Baylor football put last season’s opening loss to Liberty to rest and picked up Matt Rhule’s first win at McLane Stadium with a 55-27 trouncing of Abilene Christian.
The Bears posted 55 points, which is the most since a season-opening win over Northwestern State in 2016. Baylor’s offense reached 600 yards and averaged 9.5 yards per play. Things looked like what they were supposed to against an FCS opponent.
