The Longhorns landed in time out. But was it a mistake, conspiracy or sabotage? Signing day has long been a social media event, but Tuesday morning, Texas was unable to participate in the lead up to one of the biggest days on the college football calendar. Texas fans woke up to see Twitter had suspended Texas Football's official account, leaving the Longhorns without a way to reach their 190,000+ followers on the site. By 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, the account was back up, but inexplicably had only a fraction of its previous following. And its famous blue check--proving the account was verified--was no longer present. It's probably a safe bet this fiasco will be fully repaired by day's end, but that's not going to stop the conspiracy theories from flying after the poorly timed suspension. At least it didn't happen on signing day. If nothing else, the new incarnation of FOX's The X-Files has great fodder for a classic new episode. UPDATE (11:55 a.m.):Texas is back! Well, its blue check and hefty follower count are back, anyway. All is well again on the virtual 40 Acres.
