RECRUITING: The top 500 players in Texas for 2018

Most of the top players in Texas have already found homes, but heading into National Signing Day on Wednesday, here's our final list of the 500 best player in Texas, powered by Next Level Athlete. "Most noticeable are all the Texas commits at the top of the board. That’s kind of new. When you see it like that, it obviously sticks out," NLA president Dan Thompson said. "They’ve kind of cleaned up, as far as the top players."  Ten of the state's 14 best players are headed to the 40 Acres, giving Tom Herman a nice leg up on his chief competition in College Station as the Aggies transition from the fired Kevin Sumlin to Jimbo Fisher, who made the jump from Tallahassee to take over at Texas A&M and take on Nick Saban for SEC West supremacy. Sumlin, by the way, has four of the players on this list signed up to join him in Arizona at his new job. Oklahoma commit Tanner Mordecai, of Waco Midway, was one of the biggest movers in the top 500 over the last year. "In my opinion, he’s the closest thing to college ready from the QBs," Thompson said. "They didn't fair well in the state title game, but he's physically the most ready of any QB in the state." Here's a look at the full rankings. [table id=175 /]
