National signing day is coming fast, and we’ll be looking at each FBS team’s needs as the end of the 2018 recruiting season arrives. Next up: Texas StateBiggest need: Pass catchers Simply put: The Bobcats need more dynamic players in the passing game. It's a run-heavy offense, yes, but in part out of necessity. Leading receiver Elijah King (52 rec., 750 yards) is gone and so is tight end Gabe Schrade, who caught a pair of touchdowns in 2017. Quarterback Damian Williams needs to rebuild his stable of targets, and receiver Tyler Watts will be a senior in 2018, too. If the Bobcats are going to be a real threat through the air, finding playmakers who can turn eight-yard catches into 25-yard catch-and-runs and finding players who can compete and win contested balls downfield will be a huge step. How it's being addressed: The Bobcats' class is ranked fourth in the Sun Belt and 6-foot, 191-pound Jacoby Hopkins of Houston Heights is the top prospect in the class, which signed 18 prospects in December. Three more are committed, including Louisiana native August Pitre. T.J. Graham of Lake Ridge in Mansfield has already signed and Blake Aragon is another three-star receiver headed to San Marcos, giving Everett Withers a big, 6-4 body to feature in his passing game in the future. Jahmarae Sheread is a 5-7 speedster who could be a factor in the return game, too. In all, the Bobcats have six pass catchers in this class, which currently has 21 members. They also added Tyler Vitt from San Antonio MacArthur, the nation's No. 56 pro-style passer. More recruiting needs:
