RECRUITING: What TCU needs in the 2018 class

National signing day is coming fast, and we’ll be looking at each FBS team’s needs as the end of the 2018 recruiting season arrives. Next up: TCUBiggest need: Offensive line You can't blame TCU fans for being hyped about Justin Rogers' arrival. The 6-4, 210-pound Louisiana native will be the program's highest-rated recruit ever. But if you're going to sign the nation's No. 2 dual-threat passer, you better be able to protect him, too. The Horned Frogs are losing three of their starting offensive linemen: center Austin Schlottmann, right guard Matt Pryor and left tackle Joseph Noteboom. Reserve guard Garrett Altman is also gone, and for good measure, so are TCU's top two tight ends, Cole Hunt and Charlie Reid. Shawn Robinson is likely to be TCU's quarterback in 2018, but he'll need more depth in front of him. Every coach would like at least 8-10 offensive linemen he knows are ready and capable to contribute. Gary Patterson will spend the spring figuring out if he's got that. How it's being addressed: TCU signed 18 of its 19 committed prospects during the early signing period last month. That included a whopping five offensive linemen, over a quarter of the class. It was clearly a priority. Junior college transfer Anthony McKinney highlights the group and should make an immediate impact at offensive tackle with a 6-8, 330-pound, college football-ready frame. He was the nation's No. 12 overall juco prospect. Denton Guyer's John Lanz is also on the way to nearby Fort Worth as the nation's No. 16 center. Three-star guards Ian Burnette of Wimberley and Esteban Avila from South Grand Prairie are also a part of this class, as well as tackle Kris Dike of Van. Outside of Dike, each ranks among the national top 50 at his position, helping Patterson reel in the Big 12's No. 3 class and one that ranks 21st nationally. More recruiting needs:
