DQ Big Game of the Week preview: Kemp vs. Mount Vernon

This week’s DQ Big Game of the Week is a match-up that could easily have gone down in late December; instead the 10-1 Kemp Yellowjackets meet the unbeaten 11-0 Mount Vernon Tigers in round two of the 3A DI Region II football playoffs.

The (intelligent, handsome and witty) folks at Dave Campbell’s have Mt Vernon ranked in their top 10 but not Kemp. The A.P. has the Tigers No. 11, but Kemp nowhere to be seen in the top 15. However; Maxpreps, USA Score Projector and Calpreps Matchup Projector have Kemp ranked higher or predicted to win this one. It’s not rare, but it also doesn’t happen too often that you have such a great divide in a Texas high school second round match-up.
