The must-see Texas high school football games for bi-district
EVERY WEEK DURING THE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL SEASON, BRADY KEANE PICKS OUT THE BEST FRIDAY GAMES IN EVERY 11-MAN CLASSIFICATION AROUND THE STATE. IF YOU'RE NEAR ONE, GET OUT AND SEE SOME FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS.

Teague (8-2) vs. Cameron Yoe (4-6) at Robinson’s Rocket Field Much like Kemp, Teague enters the first round of the playoffs looking for revenge after falling to Cameron Yoe 23-6 in the regional semifinals last season. Teague was also bounced by the Yoemen in the 2015 regional final and in the 2014 area round of the postseason. The Lions have been waiting a long time to get past Yoe in the playoffs and will finally enter this week as favorites to do so. Teague’s only losses of the season are to Madisonville and West, which are a combined 17-3, while Yoe has struggled on its way to a 4-6 record. The Lions have enough talent on both sides of the ball to control this game, but will need to slow down the duo of QB Zack Andress (2,746 total yards, 34 TDs) and WR Iverson Westbrook (945 yards, 15 TDs) to snap the postseason skid against Yoe and advance to the area round. Prosper (8-2) vs. Frisco Wakeland (7-3) at Allen’s Eagle Stadium Prosper closed out its regular season on a high note, defeating Lake Dallas 49-7 to claim the District 14-5A championship. But the Eagles didn’t exactly get an easy draw in the first round, as the Wakeland offense comes in averaging more than 41 points per game. The Wolverines have won three straight, including a 62-28 win over Frisco last week. The Lake Dallas defense, which held Lake Dallas to just 158 yards of offense last week, will have to find a way to slow down Wakeland QB Dylan Cadwallader (2,581 yards, 38 TDs) and a trio of talented receivers in Tre Adams (945 yards, 11 TDs), Peyton Reinertsen (651 yards, 9 TDs) and Easton Reeves (609 yards, 11 TDs). This should be an exciting game that could go either way. Kemp (9-1) vs. Pottsboro (6-4) at Forney’s City Bank Stadium These teams met up in the bi-district round of the playoffs last season and played in one of the wildest fourth quarters of the year. Kemp trailed 21-0 entering the final frame of that game but somehow managed to take a 36-35 lead with less than a minute left. But Pottsboro’s Hunter Watson led a game-winning touchdown drive to give the Cardinals a 42-36 win. If this year’s game is even half as thrilling as last year's 57-point fourth quarter, fans will be in for a treat. Kemp enters as the better team this time around behind an explosive offense that is averaging more than 50 points per game. The Yellowjackets only loss came to Grandview in the district opener, and they’ll certainly be motivated to avenge last year’s heartbreaking loss to Pottsboro. Watson is still leading the charge for the Cardinals, but Pottsboro will have to bounce back quickly after being shutout in a 35-0 loss to Whitesboro last week. Raymondville (9-1) vs. Sinton (7-2) at Corpus Christi’s Cabaniss Stadium Raymondville is having a great year under coach Frank Cantu and finished second behind Rio Hondo in District 16-4A. But that loss to the Bobcats is what forced the Bearkats into a bi-district matchup against Sinton, and the Pirates are a much better team than most third-place finishers across the state. Sinton finished behind Cuero and Sweeny in District 15-4A but enters the playoffs on a high note after a 35-21 win over Ingleside last week. The Pirates have won at least one postseason game in five straight years, and will turn to QB Colt Gorman (1, 781 total yards, 22 TDs) and RB Tristan Canales (1,209 yards, 16 TDs) to keep that streak alive. Raymondville is looking for its first playoff win since 2012 and will need a lot of production out of QB Gutierrez Daniel (1,844 total yards, 14 TDs) and RB Marcus Capetillo (788 yards, 5 TDs) to move past Sinton.
