DQ Big Game of the Week preview: Hutto vs. Cedar Park
WEEK 7 OF THE DQ BIG GAME OF THE WEEK FINDS NEIL BEASLEY AND COMPANY IN CENTRAL TEXAS, WHERE THE HIPPOS ARE LOOKING FOR A SIGNATURE WIN.

This week’s DQ Big Game of the Week was one I ‘thought’ might be a good match-up back in July when we picked our schedule. Now I realize it’s a GREAT one! Both teams enter as Top 10 teams in the state in the A.P. poll with the Cedar Park Timberwolves taking up residence there (basically since 2012 and the first of their two state championships) and now the Hutto Hippos checking in at No. 10 in the state with the incredible play of superstar quarterback Chase Griffin. Both teams are unbeaten in District 19-5A play at 6-0 and both are looking to stay that way.
Cedar Park comes in limping a bit, however. Quarterback Mak Sexton broke his leg just a couple weeks back but that hasn’t crippled the T-Wolves spirits. Back-up Ryan Fiala took the reins and the team pulled out the win that night against Georgetown, and again last week against Pflugerville Connally. And while the offense didn’t light it up against Connally, they didn’t really have to. The signature Cedar Park defense is at full strength these days, giving up just 13 points a game.
