Frisco Reedy arrives It was a big game atmosphere for second-year program Frisco Reedy on Thursday night as the 4-0 Lions took on fellow unbeaten Frisco Wakeland at the Ford Center. The moment and stage wasn’t too much for the Lions who stunned favored Wakeland with an impressive 35-28 win to seize control of the District 13-5A race. It was no fluke win for head coach Chad Cole’s squad as they went toe-to-toe with a Wakeland team known for being physical. There’s still a lot of football left to be played in the always-balanced Frisco ISD, but there’s no question that the Reedy Lions will be a factor in the district title discussion in 2017. Midland Lee passes Little SWC test In a battle of 5-0 teams in District 2-6A, Midland Lee proved it will be in the district title mix as it took down Amarillo Tascosa 56-42 at Grande Communications Stadium. The Rebels ran for nearly 500 yards in the win and totaled 612 yards of offense. Lee’s defense struggled some against the Tascosa triple option, but made key stops in big moments to get a big victory. It doesn’t get much easier for the Rebels next week as they travel to San Angelo to take on another unbeaten team in San Angelo Central. 12-4A Division I wildness
