DQ Big Game of the Week preview: Richland Springs vs. Sterling City
WEEK 6 OF THE DQ BIG GAME OF THE WEEK FINDS NEIL BEASLEY AND COMPANY GEARING UP FOR A SIX-MAN HEAVYWEIGHT CLASH.

This week’s DQ Big Game of the Week is our second ever 6-man game! Well, not really the second; more like the 2nd and a half. I know what you’re thinking: “This Beasley guy played one too many games without his helmet.” While that may very well be true, my reasoning here is sound.
Our first 6-man game was back in 2006 with Whitharral taking on Meadow. The visiting Panthers were just 1 shy of 100 points that night in getting the win, making it all the way to the state semi’s that season. Ah, but you’re more interested in the ‘half’ part. That was back in 2012. Both 6-man Throckmorton and 11-man Windthorst were having trouble finding a game in early October, so; if you can’t join ‘em, beat ‘em! The two teams decided to play each other. The first half would be 11-on-11, then move the goalposts in, re-chalk the field and play the second half 6-man. As crazy as that sounds it was one of the best football scenes I’ve ever been around (with Throckmorton rolling up points in the second half to win the game 46-15).
