Texas high school football's biggest movers and shakers after Week 2 (Subscribers Only)

Every week, Jerry Forrest's computer rankings and projections give us a deeper insight to every part of the Texas high school football world. Among the revelations his data provides are movers and shakers, the teams whose results have bigger impacts than initially meets the eye. 6A: School (Record)                   Ranking/Previous Ranking/(+/-)             Next Opponent Movers: Midland Lee (2-0)                     40/93 (+53)                                                      El Paso El Dorado (1-1) Shakers: Abilene (0-2)                              109/ 50 (-59)                                                    at Abilene Cooper (2-0) A decisive 49-14 over Abilene last week propels the Rebels 53 spots in Jerry's ratings and sends Abilene down 59 spots. Abilene will try to regain some ground this week in their annual rivalry game against a Cooper team that slipped past Grapevine last week.   5A: School (Record)                   Ranking/Previous Ranking/(+/-)            Next Opponent Movers: Port Lavaca Calhoun (1-0)      153/213 (+78)                                                    at El Campo (0-1) Shakers: Dumas (1-1)                                 146/55 (-91)                                                      at Lubbock (1-1) A win over a top-tier team in any classification will draw eyebrows and Calhoun's 19-7 win over previously Top 15-ranked Stafford did just that. Dumas dropped a tough one to 4A Lubbock Estacado after getting off to a 1-0 start in Week 1.   4A Div I:School (Record)                   Ranking/Previous Ranking/(+/-)            Next Opponent Movers: Lubbock Estacado (1-1)             27/57 (+30)                                                        Amarillo Caprock (2-0) Shakers: Stafford (0-1)                              42/15 (-27)                                                          Bellville (0-2) Speaking of Estacado, the Matadors take a 30-spot jump after knocking off a 5A program while Stafford endures the consequences of its loss to Calhoun. The Spartans have a chance to rebound against Bellville who lost an overtime thriller last week against Bay City.   4A Div II: School (Record)                   Ranking/Previous Ranking/(+/-)            Next Opponent Movers: Diboll (1-0)                                  39/73 (+34)                                                   at Newton (1-0) Shakers: Huntington (0-2)                       91/87 (-4)                                                      vs Saratoga West Hardin (0-1) A convincing win over 3A mainstay Crockett sends Diboll up a peg while Huntington looks to bounce back against West Hardin at home. Both teams are in search of their first wins of the season. 3A Div I: School (Record)                   Ranking/Previous Ranking/(+/-)            Next Opponent Movers: East Chambers (1-0)                           39/65  (+26)                           at Hamshire-Fannett (0-1) Shakers: Kirbyville (0-1)                                    62/35 (-27)                             at Palestine Westwood (1-0) East Chambers and Kirbyville essentially trade places after the Buccaneers held home field and shut out the Wildcats 28-0.   3A Div II: School (Record)                   Ranking/Previous Ranking/(+/-)            Next Opponent Movers: Tolar (1-1)                                           20/42 (+20)                             vs Boyd (1-1) Shakers: Crockett (1-1)                                      40/15 (-25)                             at Rusk (1-1) Tolar's first win of the season last week against Hico gives the Rattlers a boost while Crockett's blowout loss to 4A Diboll knocks the Bulldogs out of the top 20. Worth noting that this week, Crockett's second consecutive 4A opponent, Rusk, handled district opponent Diboll pretty easily in 2016.   2A Div I: School (Record)                   Ranking/Previous Ranking/(+/-)            Next Opponent Movers: Simms Bowie (1-0)                            62/79 (+17)                                             N/A Shakers: Hico (1-1)                                            49/28  (-21)                                              at Millsap (1-1) Simms Bowie's 46-22 win over a top 25 2A program in Overton was good to leap 17 spots. Hico looks to shake off its loss to 3A Tolar on the road at Millsap.   2A Div II: School (Record)                   Ranking/Previous Ranking/(+/-)            Next Opponent Movers: Menard (1-1)                               34/61 (+27)                                                      Rocksprings (2-0) Shakers: Overton (0-2)                             49/25  (-24)                                                      Price Carlisle (2-0) Knocking off previously top-50 Baird in blowout fashion sent Menard into the top half of 2A Division II with unbeaten No. 27 Rocksprings looking to stay that way. Overton hangs on to its top 50 spot with Price Carlisle on the horizon. No. 20 Carlisle is looking to punch its way up after leaping six spots from last week.   1A Div I:School (Record)                   Ranking/Previous Ranking/(+/-)            Next Opponent Movers: Rankin (1-1)                                24/43  (+19)                                                     at Sanderson (1-1)Shakers: Veribest (1-1)                              46/25  (-21)                                                      Brookesmith (0-2) Rankin and Veribest essentially trade places after the Red Devils' 58-12 win over the Falcons last week. Rankin travels to Sanderson who lost an 85-67 shootout to Marfa last week. 1A Div II: School (Record)                   Ranking/Previous Ranking/(+/-)            Next Opponent Movers: Vernon Northside (1-1)            55/68  (+13)                                                      OpenShakers: Woodson (1-1)                           52/33  (-19)                                                       at Blackwell (2-0) It took 74 points for Northside to finally put away Woodson last week.  The Cowboys look to rebound against Blackwell who have yet to allow a score this season through two weeks. Private: School (Record)                   Ranking/Previous Ranking/(+/-)            Next Opponent Movers: Dallas Home School AA (2-0)             115/128 (+13)                                            Open Shakers: Irving The Highlands School (0-2)      128/113 (-15)                                           San Antonio St. Gerard (0-2)   Private 6-Man: School (Record)                   Ranking/Previous Ranking/(+/-)            Next Opponent Movers: Dallas Lakehill Prep (2-0)                   23/51  (+28)                                             Arlington Newman (0-1) Shakers: San Antonio River City (0-1)               126/97 (-29)                                            Open
