Game of the night:Bells 94, Celeste 74 What happened to the northeast of the Metroplex on Friday night was historic. Bells and Celeste combined for 168 points, an 11-man state record, breaking the mark of 164 set by Nacogdoches and Jacksonville in 2010. What's more interesting is that Bells entered the game with one loss, while Celeste entered winless. An explosive and memorable offensive output couldn't have been part of anyone's predictions for the clash, and is especially impressive considering the 2A squads don't have the depth of the larger schools that score these kinds of points (well, nearer these kinds of points) more consistently. But Sachse, led by QB Jalen Mayden, has been getting hotter with each game this season. It all culminated with a stunning thumping of the Eagles by the Mustangs. Sachse is now in the driver's seat in 10-6A, and with each result, looks like a team that could make a deep playoff run. Team in the holeTXHSFB fans An alarming number of star players went down with what seemed like very scary injuries, and it was a massive bummer. Best wishes and a speedy recovery to each one of them.
